The purpose of this qualification is to give learners the skills to support colleagues with mental health problems.
This course is offered for FREE for those that meet the following criteria:
- Live within 60 miles (as the crow flies) of Swindon
- Be 19yrs or older on August 31st 2023
- Have lived in England for the past 3 years

More About this qualification
These skills will be gained by increasing the learner’s knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions and the principles of mental health first aid and how this can be implemented in the workplace. This is a regulated and assessed qualification which will not expire.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for learners who wish to raise awareness of mental health, creating a culture of care and the promotion of positive mental health. This qualification gives learners the opportunity to understand mental health, its associated care and how this can be applied to learners or colleagues in the workplace.
What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific prior skills/knowledge a learner must have for this qualification. However, learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake this qualification.
How is this qualification structured?
The qualification is delivered through an online portal and learners complete the work in their own time at home. The course takes approximately 7-10 hours to complete and learners will have access to tutor guidance and support throughout the course. To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully complete 3 mandatory units:
