Workforce pathway

The University of East London(UEL) and WimX have a highly successful workforce development program in tennis and sports coaching. Players still working on developing their own game can benefit from support in achieving industry ready qualifications, gaining experience out in the field and being involved in a wider education program to prepare them for work during and after their university degree.

Many players have gone to have highly successful careers in tennis after graduating from this program. The places are limited for this and the levels of support vary on each individual case.

Professional Tennis Pathway

The University of East London(UEL)  and WimX can now provide players with a unique package of academic flexibility coupled with access to elite sports science support and coaching from ex-professional players.  Our unique partnership enables players to continue to travel and play tour events whilst studying on part-time, distance or blended learning courses.

Reaching the top in professional tennis requires perseverance and continued high level coaching and competition well in to your 20’s.  UEL and WimX are now in a position to offer the opportunity to continue working towards improving your world ranking whilst facilitating your progression on either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

In providing a bespoke programme, the professional player can elect to study from a wide range of degree courses and at the same time benefit from the support provided by coaches who have amassed 99 Tour titles between them.  We will work with you to construct a programme that best fits your schedule and circumstances.  This might mean that a professional player immerses themselves in the programme working closely with a designated WimX coach and strength and conditioning team or alternatively spends more time travelling thereby accessing support and guidance when required.  It is our belief that with our experience in coaching professional players and supporting elite athletes (sports science) we are well placed to assist professional players in reaching their career ambitions.

We are particularly interested in players who already have a senior world ranking or are aspiring to gain one.
